Happy New Year! Every other year Living Proof Ministries in Houston, Texas sponsors a “Scripture Memory Team.” I have participated each time and 2015 will be TEAM 4! The first was 2009, then 2011, then 2013, and now 2015! The plan is so do-able and also very motivating. You commit to memorize two verses (of your own choosing) each month, for a total of 24 for the year. I will be posting my verses here each month on my blog. All the instructions to participate are found here: 2015 SCRIPTURE MEMORY TEAM

My verse for January 1st is from 2 Peter 1:3 in the NIV –

His divine power has given us everything we need
for a godly life through our knowledge of Him
who called us by His own glory and goodness.

I love this verse and I’m praying His divine power will give me everything I need for 2015 – to live a godly life in Him – through my knowledge of Him and the truth that he called me by His own glory and goodness! AMEN!

I was blessed reading your entry in Beth’s memory team. You are a women I admire with your many hats and loves! I am a pastor’s wife as well with a little granddaughter named Emery Anna! We were just talking in our Women’s leadership meeting about a ministry similar to your “Taste and See” – could you please reply regarding information about this? Also the little dress you made for Emery is darling – is that a pattern or did you create it? (I would love to copy it for my little sweetie!) Blessings! Nancy

  2. Hi Jan! I found you through the LPM blog. I love the idea of your new “Taste & See” ministry, and I hope you will blog about it. Our praying grandmothers group at our church (Houston, TX) likes to spend time with the younger women who attend MOPS. Happy New Year!

  3. I love this verse and there is an AVB song to it, too, which makes it easier to memorize. My verse is 1 Peter 1:14 HCSB. I am leaving a comment to test them, too 🙂

  4. I love this verse, as well. It reminds me that nothing the world/Satan throws at me is greater than the power and provision that God has give me in Christ. amazing verse. Blessings to you!
